We are [God’s] workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus for good works.
—Ephesians 2:10
The late Dr. Norvel Young often told people, “You’re doing more good than you know.”
My friend Allen Isbell, who preaches for the Broadway church in Galveston, recently cited Young’s statement, saying he thought of it when he met John, who was at the church for a second time. He explained why John was there.
Natalie Freed had invited John to attend. He did.
Then John received a note from Sheila Williams thanking him for attending. John said that he had not received any mail for five months when Sheila’s postcard showed up in his mailbox. So he came again.
No organized church program brought John to the church—just the thoughtful actions of two devoted women who did what they could and were doing more good than they knew.
Their actions are worthy of imitation in every church—by every member.
Your quiet ministry is doing more good than you know.
