Jesus Christ is the same
yesterday and today and forever.
—Hebrews 13:8
You live in a world of constant change.
Marriage changes, for better or for worse.
Children change. In Fiddler on the Roof, Tevye sings: “Is this the little girl I carried, is this the little boy at play?” Wife Golde joins in: “I don’t remember growing older, when did they?”
The body changes. Despite disciplined attempts to prolong your life, your body refuses to cooperate. The eat-anything-you-want, non-sagging physique, and body without pain becomes an existence in the rearview mirror.
Is anything changeless, anything that provides a rock-solid foundation for your life? Yes! Jesus “is the same yesterday and today and forever” (Heb 13:8). Your God is the Alpha and the Omega, “who is, and who was, and who is to come” (Rv 1:8).
Adapt to the changing.
Cling to the Changeless.
