I will trust and not be afraid.
—Isaiah 12:2
News outlets deliver a continuous stream of wild-eyed crazies massacring schoolchildren, shooting up theaters, planting bombs where people work and play. They display nutcase leaders flexing their muscles and annihilating their enemies.
This endless recital of horror feeds fear.
Then there are personal fears: fear of the death of a parent, companion, or child; fear of a devastating disease; fear of the loss of retirement savings.
There is only one antidote to fear: faith in God.
His promises are dependable: “I will not forget you” (Is 49:15). “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you” (Heb 13:5).
Don’t let your fear outgrow your faith.
