Your will be done.
—Matthew 6:10
“Your will be done” is one of the most difficult prayers to pray.
More often than not, we pray for our will to be done. That is, we pray for what we want, and ask God to make it happen.
It’s not easy to want God’s will to be done unless it corresponds with our will.
But if we can reach the level in our prayer life of truly desiring his will, we have the promise of answered prayer: “If we ask anything according to his will he hears us” (1 Jn 5:14).
When we can pray—and really mean—“Your will be done,” we will be okay with whatever answer he gives because we will be certain that he will give what is best.
Learn to want what he wants.
