Not by My Works but by His Grace

By grace you have been saved, through faith.
                               —Ephesians 2:8

Dear Lord,

Satan has a valid point when he accuses me and contends for my rejection. But you veto his censure and assure my acceptance.

I have no legitimate right by works done but wholly by grace received.

Grant that I may discern your declaration that Christ was crushed for my iniquities and that by his wounds I am healed:

that I was lost but have been found,
am guilty but pardoned,
am sin-stained but cleansed.

In an act beyond my comprehension, you made me righteous by making him who had no sin to be sin for me. Thank you.

Amen.

Our heavenly destiny is God’s doing.
