If we are thrown into the blazing furnace,
the God we serve is able to save us from it.
—Daniel 3:17
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego knew that God was able to save them but didn’t know if he would.
“But even if he does not,” they told King Nebuchadnezzar, “we will not serve your gods.”
Their courage was fueled by faith that God was in control.
Sometimes we have second thoughts about God’s power and presence. We have been told that prayer changes things. But we’ve prayed, and it hasn’t changed things.
Or has it? Continue to believe that God hears your prayers. If he isn’t answering when you want him to, in the way you want him to, still hold tenaciously to your faith. He is able. He is in control. And he will honor your trust in the best way in his own time.
Don’t waver when you must wait.
