I have much more to say to you,
more than you can now bear.
—John 16:12
Jesus didn’t tell his disciples all they wanted to know—only as much as they needed to know and had the capacity to receive at the moment.
Neither is he going to tell you all you want to know—only as much as you need to know and have the capacity to absorb and accept.
It’s like driving a car at night. You can’t see your destination; you can only see as far down the road as your headlights reveal. But you can make the whole trip that way.
All you need to know is that his plan is not to harm and condemn you but to help and save you.
God knows what you don’t and sees what you can’t,
so let him map the trip.
