Whatever your hand finds to do,
do it with all your might.
—Ecclesiastes 9:10
I’ve presided at quite a few funerals where the P.S. of life could have been “Someday” or “One of these days.” There were important things that the deceased intended to do but postponed and never got around to doing.
Intending to do is miles distant from doing. As a friend of mine often says, “Thinking about it don’t hoe no cotton.”
If it’s something you need to do, do it now, or there’s a good chance you’ll never do it. Eliminate “Someday” and “One of these days” from your vocabulary.
Every morning, when you open your eyes, remind yourself that this is a special day, a once-in-a-lifetime gift—and the one-and-only time you will have the opportunity to use it.
You never finish what you never start.
