Let us run with perseverance
the race marked out for us.
—Hebrews 12:1
Do you have any unfinished projects on your to-do list?
My aim isn’t to shame you for not finishing what you started—some ventures aren’t worth finishing. I only want to encourage you to finish the most important thing.
Some races are optional—like reading all of The 100 Greatest Books Ever Written.
Other races are essential.
When Paul neared the finish line, he wrote: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” (2 Tm 4:7). If you can scratch your initials next to that verse, then you can also initial the next verse: “Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day.”
There’s one race you must not lose.
