We eagerly await by faith the
righteousness for which we hope.
—Galatians 5:5
Paul closed his love eulogy with the triad tribute: “Now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love” (1 Cor 13:13).
Love gets top billing. But don’t slight faith and hope.
Take away our wealth, and we are hampered. Take away our health, and we are handicapped. Take away our objectives, and we are frustrated. But take away our faith and hope, and we are plunged into the darkness of despair.
Hang tight to faith and hope. There is light at the end of the tunnel. You may have to squint to see it. It may seem distant and faint. Keep looking. It will become closer and clearer. And the day will come when the Father will honor your faith and hope.
When you’re in the dark,
faith and hope lead to the light.
