On him we have set our hope.
—2 Corinthians 1:10
Things didn’t go well for Paul and his pals in Ephesus. “We felt we were doomed to die and saw how powerless we were to help ourselves; but that was good, for then we put everything into the hands of God . . . And he did help us . . . and we expect him to do it again and again” (2 Cor 1:9–10 TLB).
Paul’s expectation was centered on a limitless God who “is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine” (Eph 3:20).
Instead of grabbing your remote and starting your day with negative news, talk to your Father and start your day with positive expectations. “In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation” (Ps 5:3).
Focus on God’s presence instead of your problems.
