This day the Lord will
hand you over to me.
—1 Samuel 17:46
When fear attacks, you need to refocus from the source of your fear to the source of your power.
Saul’s soldiers’ source of fear was the giant, Goliath. God was the source of their power. They forgot that, but David didn’t: “You come against me with a sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty.”
Get a clear view of your giant—and a clear view of your God.
What is the giant in your life? Anger? Resentment? Lust? Envy? A bad habit? A critical spirit? A negative attitude? You can’t defeat what you won’t admit, so get honest here.
Once you’ve identified your giant, attack it the same way David did: “I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty.”
God is your weapon.
