When you reach the edge of the Jordan’s
waters, go and stand in the river.
—Joshua 3:8
The image on my monitor is an ad that consists of nothing but words. In large letters across the top of the page is just one word—COURAGE. Beneath it is this sentence: Courage is doing what you’re afraid to do.
The Jordan River flowed at flood stage between the Israelites and the Promised Land. “When you reach the edge of the Jordan’s waters, go and stand in the river,” Joshua commanded. The river stopped flowing the second their feet touched the water, and they crossed on dry ground.
Are you afraid to do what you know you need to do? Do it anyway. God will provide a path through the river if you have the courage to put your toe in the water.
Victory is just a decision away.
