This is the day the Lord has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it.
—Psalm 118:24
The perky cashier said to the lady in front of me, “Have a nice day.”
The customer snapped: “Young lady, that’s just not a part of my plan.”
What is your plan for today?
- You can gripe about the weather or rejoice and be glad that you have shelter.
- You can gripe about financial strains or rejoice and be glad that you have food and clothes.
- You can gripe about your busy schedule or rejoice and be glad that you are valued and needed.
“It is good to praise the Lord . . . to proclaim your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night . . . For you make me glad by your deeds, O Lord; I sing for joy at the works of your hands” (Ps 92:1–2, 4).
Have a nice day—unless you have other plans.
