[God] cares for those who trust in him.
—Nahum 1:7
Have you ever boarded an airplane without knowing the pilot?
Ever climbed into a taxi without knowing the driver?
Ever sat in an examining room without knowing the doctor?
Ever followed the advice of a columnist, TV personality, or author regarding nutrition? Medical opinion? Investment recommendation?
We are quick to trust strangers but slow to trust God. That’s downright strange because we have often seen people’s promises fall short, but never a promise of God.
Joshua was an old man, just days away from taking possession of his burial plot, when he reminded Israel: “You know with all your heart and soul that not one of all the good promises the Lord your God gave you has failed. Every promise has been fulfilled; not one has failed” (Jo 23:14).
Trusting God isn’t a shot in the dark,
it is confidence that leads to the light.
