The Lord longs to be gracious to you . . .
Blessed are all who wait for him!
—Isaiah 30:18
Adam Slowman, a fictional character in Expectation Corner, visited the “Delayed Blessing Office,” where God stored the answers to prayers until the proper time to send them.
We desire quick answers to our prayers. We are impatient; we want to pick our blessings from the tree while they are still green, whereas God waits to deliver them until they are ripe. It takes a long time for us to learn—if we ever do—that delayed answers are not denials: “The revelation awaits an appointed time . . . Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come” (Hab. 2:3).
Never doubt that your prayer has been heard and will be answered in the right way at the right time.
Thank God for the answer that is on its way.
