I cry out to you, O God,
but you do not answer.
—Job 30:20
Does the interval between your prayer and God’s answer sometimes seem too long?
Why doesn’t he answer? Why doesn’t he act?
He does—when the time is right. Until then, we must wait.
We sometimes spend time and energy fretting about problems we can’t control, only to see God step in and provide precisely the right answer at precisely the right time.
Peace will be ours when we surrender to God’s timing, being content for him to respond to our needs at the time and in the way that he sees best.
Our disappointment is often premature.
