God did not send his Son into the world
to condemn the world, but to save the world.
—John 3:17
In a commencement address at Stanford University, Steve Jobs said, “No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don’t want to die to get there.”
Steve was right.
We want to go to heaven, but we delay the trip in every way possible as long as possible because we don’t want to die to get there.
Queen Esther didn’t want to die but put her life on the line to avert the threatened annihilation of the Jews. “I will go to the king, even though it is against the law,” she said. “And if I perish, I perish.”
Jesus wanted to return to heaven but dreaded dying to get there. Nevertheless, it was a price he willingly paid in order to get you there too.
Your worth is measured by the price
Jesus paid to have you with him forever.
