E.M. Bounds wrote: “Prayers are deathless. The lips that uttered them may be closed in death, the heart that felt them may have ceased to beat, but the prayers outlive the lives of those who uttered them.”
A parent’s prayer for a child may see no answer in their lifetime, but years later turn a wayward child into a saint.
The apostle John saw an angel offering incense, representing the prayers of the saints, before God’s throne. Then he hurled fire from the altar to the earth (Rv 8:3–5).
Professor Homer Hailey said that these are intercessory prayers that are presented to God and that the casting of fire upon the earth represents the heavenly answer to them.
Prayers of the saints are heard in heaven, and God sends his answers when the time is right.
Pray—and trust God with the timing of the answer.
