Show me the way I should go.
—Psalm 143:8
I’m going to recommend a fourteen-word prayer to you. But first this . . .
Being unfamiliar with the area, I knew the name of the store, but not the location. I asked a gentleman at a convenience store, “Do you know where Harold’s is?” He said he did and started giving directions—but sensing my obtuseness, he said, “I’ll show you the way, follow me.” He led me right to the store’s front door.
We have questions for which we have no answers. We may not know where we should go—and even if we do, we may not know how to get there.
So, here’s the prayer I recommend to you:
I have put my trust in you.
Show me the way I should go.
—Psalm 143:8
God’s direction is never misdirection.
