May the Lord of peace himself give you peace.
—2 Thessalonians 3:16
Here are two short sentences that make it impossible for anyone to hijack your peace without your consent: 1) I have the right to choose. 2) I choose peace.
When someone who thinks too little and talks too much makes your blood boil, say, “I have the right to choose; I can choose to get bent out of shape, or I can choose peace. I choose peace.”
When unfair demands assault you, say, “I have the right to choose; I can choose to let this ruin my day, or I can choose peace. I choose peace.”
When some rude heavy-foot cuts you off and you’re bordering on road rage, say, “I have the right to choose; I can choose to come unhinged, or I can choose peace. I choose peace.”
Don’t let your attitude and actions be dictated
by the attitudes and actions of others.
