We brought nothing into the world,
and we can take nothing out of it.
—1 Timothy 6:7
Cagey advertisers have brainwashed us into believing that happiness is regulated by conditions.
In other words, happiness is determined by such things as health, wealth, or marriage—leaving us wondering why so many healthy, wealthy, married people are miserable.
Our happiness meter doesn’t register our level of joy based on how much we make and how much we own.
All—ALL—earthly positions are temporary.
Dishwasher or Head Honcho, it’s a temporary job.
Shack or mansion, it’s temporary housing.
There’s no security in the temporary—only in the eternal.
Some people use up their entire life making money
to enjoy a life they have entirely used up.
