It is not the healthy who need
a doctor, but the sick.
—Luke 5:31
Landfills are choking on discarded mattresses. Tim Keenan saw it as a business opportunity. He hired a dozen people to extract the dumped bedding components for recycling: foam, fabric, springs.
Colorado Springs journalist Bill Vogrin wrote: “Of all the items Keenan recycles, it’s the people that may be his biggest success.” You see, Keenan was hiring men from homeless shelters. “We take guys nobody else wants,” he said.
Critics scorched Jesus for fraternizing with sinners. Those are the ones who need a doctor, he said. Some of the greatest saints were hatched in that nest of sinners.
It is life-changing to be wanted.
Eighty-three-year-old Martha said, “The happiest day of my life was the day I became engaged. I realized for the first time that somebody wanted me.”
You, my friend, are wanted.
God wants you because heaven
wouldn’t be complete without you.
