You have been made right with God.
—1 Corinthians 6:11
Ray Stedman came to his pulpit and read the text for the day. “Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, who are idol worshipers, adulterers, male prostitutes, homosexuals, thieves, greedy people, drunkards, abusers, and swindlers—none of these will have a share in the Kingdom of God. There was a time when some of you were just like that.”
Stedman paused, stared at his audience, and then continued reading: “But now your sins have been washed away, and you . . . have been made right with God” (1 Cor 6:9–11).
You may have a painful memory of some sin in your past, but God doesn’t. “I will remember their sins no more” (Heb 10:17).
“[You] are not the same anymore, for the old life is gone. A new life has begun” (2 Cor 5:17).
Forget the past. God has.
