Always give thanks to
God the Father for everything.
—Ephesians 5:20
Giving thanks is grace focused, expressing gratitude for blessings received, though undeserved.
When we verbalize our gratitude to God, worry diminishes, trouble dwindles, courage develops, and peace dawns.
In Ephesians 5, Paul specifies giving thanks as an ingredient in being filled with the Spirit.
His charge to give thanks for everything is a challenge. But as he said elsewhere, everything works together for the good of those who love God (Rom 8:28). God even uses adversity to produce character, perseverance, and hope (Rom 5:3–5).
Thank God for whatever tools
he is using to shape you.
