No immoral, impure or greedy person . . .
has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ.
—Ephesians 5:5
Choosing to live in the ghettos of immorality and impurity instead of in God’s neighborhood can get you booted from the kingdom.
But greed? What’s greed doing in Paul’s sentence? Greed isn’t all that bad, is it?
Satan has pulled a fast one on us. We scorch the immoral and impure sinners while applauding the greed-driven as they keep stacking up bigger piles of possessions.
Seventeen of Jesus’ thirty-six recorded parables dealt with such things as property, stewardship, and covetousness.
Paul bluntly stated that greed is idolatry (Col 3:5).
Don’t put craving above Christ
or gain above God.
