Do not neglect your gift.
—1 Timothy 4:14
You are the only you in the world. There is no one else like you: never has been; never will be. You are an original—one-of-a-kind. That’s who God made you—and he doesn’t make mistakes.
You are exactly who God wants you to be—you!
You have something that no one else has, and the world will suffer loss if you don’t use it. “Do not neglect your gift.”
Stop comparing yourself with others to your disadvantage. Measure your value by how you use your abilities, however small you consider them—not by comparison with others’ abilities, however large you consider them.
Quit thinking about the things you can’t do. Home in on what you can do—and do it with all your might.
Focus on what you have,
not on what you don’t have.
