He is able to help those
who are being tempted.
—Hebrews 2:18
Here are two sentences that tell you what Jesus has done for you:
“[He] came to seek and to save the lost” (Lk 19:10).
“[He] became a human and lived among us” (Jn 1:14).
The operative word in the first sentence is “came.”
The operative word in the second sentence is “became.”
He came to earth and became human to show that he isn’t coldhearted but compassionate.
He came to earth and became human to find you and save you.
He came to earth and became human to show that he knows what you’re going through: “Our high priest is able to understand our weaknesses. When he lived on earth, he was tempted in every way that we are” (Heb 4:15).
You will experience nothing that he doesn’t understand,
for you will go nowhere that he hasn’t been.
