You are not your own.
—1 Corinthians 6:19
Am I in the right place?
Am I doing the right thing?
Do you find those questions unnerving?
I believe I was “called” to ministry. But it didn’t occur in a spectacular way at a specific moment. Nothing mystical happened, empowering me to give my testimony, and causing everyone to say, “Wow!” I never experienced that. Just a bunch of small influences led me to it.
You were probably called by God to be where you are and to do what you’re doing. But you may feel edgy because you never felt the call in a supernatural way at a specific moment.
You don’t need that. You only need to be clear about one thing: “You are not your own.” You are his. If you get that straight, all the rest will fall into place.
Nothing is more challenging
than giving up ownership of self.
