[W]e too may live a new life.
—Romans 6:4
Faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus may not have changed your world, but it has changed you.
“[A]ll of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life” (Rom 6:3–4).
A new life! Death of the old you; resurrection of the new you. Same old world; but brand new you. You still wear the same clothes, travel the same streets, encounter the same people. These things haven’t changed. But you have!
Let Jesus’ sweet promise sink into your soul: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life” (Jn 6:47 NKJV).
Because of Jesus, you are
not a prisoner of your past.
