“God is my salvation,” wrote Isaiah; “I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord, is my strength and my song.”
Your emotions are raw from the chafing manacles of fear. Fear that the love of your life won’t survive the surgeon’s scalpel. Fear that downsizing will land you in the dismissal queue. Or . . . name your fear.
But you possess the key to unlock the fetters of fear: God’s power! He “is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine according to his power that is at work within us” (Eph 3:20).
Don’t miss that last phrase—his power is at work within you.
You need no other reason to “trust and not be afraid!”
Neither limp nor whimper. Trust his strength. Sing your song.
The solution to your fear is his strength, not yours.
