Does he not see my ways
and count my every step?
—Job 31:4
On Monday, May 23, 2016, Patty Ris was eating lunch at Deupree House, a senior living community in Cincinnati.
Suddenly she choked and couldn’t breathe.
A ninety-six-year-old resident seated beside her knew what to do—he administered the Heimlich maneuver, saving Patty’s life.
Who was this alert elderly gentleman? None other than the renowned Dr. Henry Heimlich. Yes, that Dr. Heimlich, inventor of the Heimlich maneuver.
As the late Paul Harvey would have said, “Now you know the rest of the story.”
Well, not quite.
In a note to Dr. Heimlich, Patty wrote: “God put me in the seat right next to you.”
If you share Patty’s conviction, be alert. God may put a certain person in your path or you in a certain person’s path. Or both.
That’s the rest of the story.
If you are irritated by interruptions
you will never be of much use to anyone.
