Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.
—Acts 2:40
Peter told the Pentecost crowd about Jesus, who had been nailed to a cross outside Jerusalem fifty-three days ago.
“God raised him from the dead,” he said, and made him “both Lord and Christ.”
He urged them, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins” (Acts 2:38).
Three thousand of them did. Thousands of them didn’t.
Accept him and this earth is the closest you will ever be to hell. Reject him and this earth is the closest you will ever be to heaven.
“God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son so that whoever believes in him may not be lost, but have eternal life” (Jn 3:16).
God makes the offer.
We make the choice.
We make choices. Choices have consequences.
We live with the consequences.
