You are worth more than many sparrows.
—Luke 12:7
What a week! It was the week in 1997 that Princess Diana died in Paris, Mother Teresa died in Calcutta, and Viktor Frankl died in Vienna.
And that wasn’t all. Other special people who died that week were Joseph Rincon, Loretta Smith, Brian Watson, Rutena Strauss, Edward Washington, and Eleanor Thomas.
Who? Don’t recognize those names? I randomly picked them from that week’s archived Houston Chronicle obituaries.
Unlike Diana, Teresa, and Viktor, they were unknown except to a small circle of family and friends.
And to God, who, the apostle Paul assures us, “has no favorites” (Gal 2:6 NLT). So Loretta Smith was as special to God as Mother Teresa.
And so are you.
The difference between you and everyone else
is that there is no one else like you.
