Who makes you different from anyone else?
What do you have that you did not receive?
—1 Corinthians 4:7
The Fortune 500 CEO was picking up a prescription at the pharmacy when he saw his wife talking to a drugstore employee she had dated in high school.
As they drove away he said, “I bet I know what you were thinking back there. You were thinking that you’re glad you married me, a Fortune 500 CEO, and not him, a shelf-stocker.”
“No,” she said, “I was thinking that if I’d married him, he’d be a Fortune 500 CEO and you’d be a shelf-stocker.”
God warned the Israelites that when they were settled in the Promised Land, had full stomachs, fine houses, and prosperous businesses they would be in danger of forgetting that it was God that got them there (Deut. 8:10-18).
Enough said.
Everything you have is a gift. File that
in the forefront of your memory.
