You know God—or rather are known by God.
—Galatians 4:9
You were known by God before he was known by you. He singled you out—chose, called, and saved you.
Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart (Jer. 1:5).
You know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar … you knit me together in my mother’s womb … All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be (Ps. 139:1-2, 13, 16).
There is never a moment when he isn’t thinking about you; never a moment when he isn’t aware of what is happening in your life; never a moment when he doesn’t love you as if you were his only child.
God chose and adopted you.
You must be very special.
