How did Paul come up with that Pollyanna line? He was in the pokey when he wrote it, and had reason to be anxious about everything.
He wasn’t delusional; didn’t deny that bad things happen.
You’re going to have some messy struggles. That’s life. But when you’re in the thick of trouble, stay in touch with God. “If you will do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand” (Phil. 4:7 NLT).
You’ll come out on top, because when your values are unscathed and your faith unruffled, you are promised an ultimate destination where bad things can’t get at you.
Make prayer a first thought,
not a last resort.
