What I want is not your possessions but you.
—2 Corinthians 12:14
The gifts the Magi brought to Bethlehem’s manger were pricey but not practical—not baby-shower stuff.
Practical gifts would have been booties and baby wash, diaper bags and strollers, teething rings and pacifiers.
Gold, frankincense, and myrrh? C’mon!
They plopped their gifts on the straw, said their prayers, straddled their camels and headed home.
Did they give themselves to him?
You have the one gift he wants most of all—yourself.
Give him the gift of you.
Not part of you. All of you.
