By grace you have been saved.
—Ephesians 2:8
The first ten verses of 2 Cor. 12 finds Paul on a Roller Coaster …
First he soars to heights of ecstasy, caught up into heaven.
Second he drops to depths of misery, tormented by a thorn in the flesh.
Third he settles into certainty that God’s grace is sufficient for him.
You, too, have your times of ecstasy; seasons when God seems as close as your heartbeat.
Then you have times of misery; stints when you plummet to bewildering stretches of disappointment, agony, and loss.
Reach for the certainty that his grace is sufficient for all your needs—for the final sentence of the final chapter of your story has already been written … “By grace you have been saved, through faith.”
God’s grace. You can’t get home without it.
