When I consider … the moon and the stars.
—Psalm 8:3
The psalmist was stunned by the stars …
When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars that you have established; what are human beings that you are mindful of them, mortals that you care for them? (Ps. 8:3-4 NRSV).
Why does God think about you? Why does he care for you?
Simple. You’ve always been on his mind. He pictured you and chose you before he created the world; and before he hurled the first star into space.
You mean more than the world and the stars to him.
You always have.
You are always on his mind.
Let him never be far from yours.
