Do not boast about tomorrow.
—Proverbs 27:1
We have been to the moon; built and manned an International Space Station; put a rover on Mars.
We have sequenced the genes in the Human Genome.
We have transplanted hearts, kidneys, and lungs.
We have built skyscrapers, and a car that zips from zero to 60 in 2.4 seconds.
But when it comes to tomorrow our knowledge plunges from 60 to zero in less than a second.
The brainy dude that has a Ph.D. from Harvard, a Mensa membership, and an I.Q. north of 180 is clueless about what tomorrow will bring.
Or even if there will be a tomorrow.
A big part of wisdom is
knowing what you don’t know.
