He cares for those who trust in him.
—Nahum 1:7
Have you ever put your life in the hands of a stranger?
Ever boarded an airplane without knowing the pilot?
Ever climbed into the back seat of a taxi without knowing the driver?
Ever made a medical appointment without knowing the doctor?
Ever accepted nutritional advice without knowing the columnist?
Every relied on a weather forecast without knowing the meteorologist?
It must pain God to see how quick we are to trust strangers … and how slow to trust him. After all, we have often seen the promises of people fall short, but never a promise of God.
“Not one of all the good promises the Lord your God gave you has failed,” Joshua said to Israel. “Every promise has been fulfilled; not one has failed” (Josh. 23:14).
You can hang your hat
on the promises of God.
