The things you have heard me say in the presence of many
witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also … teach others.
—2 Timothy 2:2
“For the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.”
So ran the final sentence of the Declaration of Independence.
Fifty-six men signed their names below that sentence, committing—at enormous personal cost—to convictions that changed our world.
Jesus chose a dozen men to put their lives on the line for a cause they didn’t fully understand. Their assignment was to multiply themselves, producing more disciples—listeners, learners, and doers—who would proclaim Jesus by word and life in their own time and place.
People like you, whose only question would be, “Where do I sign?”
The committed belong to a
small group that makes a big difference.
