Encourage the timid, help the weak,
be patient with everyone.
—1 Thessalonians 5:14
Romans 12:6 says, “We have different gifts.” Those gifts include serving, teaching, leading, giving, and encouraging.
Most of the gifts are limited. One is unlimited.
Teaching is a great gift, but the opportunity to teach doesn’t come every day.
Generosity is a wonderful gift, but the opportunity to give in a way that you are capable of responding to doesn’t come every day.
Then there’s the gift of encouragement. It is a gift that you have—along with opportunities to use it every day. And it is every bit as much a ministry as teaching or giving.
Someone in your circle of influence is running on fumes. Their tank is almost empty. Fill it with encouragement.
You can never give a word of encouragement too soon,
because you never know when it will be too late.
