There’s no place like home.
The exiled Hebrews were homesick—when they thought about home tears flowed: “By the rivers of Babylon we sat and wept when we remembered Zion” (Ps. 137:1).
Home has a special meaning for God’s children.
When Abraham thought of home, he wasn’t thinking of his hometown of Ur, but of the eternal city whose architect and builder is God (Heb. 11:10).
When Paul thought of home, he wasn’t thinking of his hometown of Tarsus, but of being at home with the Lord (2 Cor. 5:8).
Peter was homesick: “… we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness” (2 Pet. 3:13).
There’s no place like home.
Heaven is our final destination;
we will never pack another bag.
