Now may the Lord of peace himself give
you peace at all times and in every way.
—2 Thessalonians 3:16
Here are two short sentences that make it impossible for anyone or anything to hijack your peace without your consent:
I have the right to choose.
I choose peace.
When someone who thinks too little and talks too much poisons the water say, I have the right to choose; I can choose to get bent out of shape or I can choose peace. I choose peace.
When you are hammered by unfair demands say, I have the right to choose; I can choose to let this make my blood boil or I can choose peace. I choose peace.
When some heavy-foot cuts you off and you’re bordering on road rage say, I have the right to choose; I can choose to come unhinged or I can choose peace. I choose peace.
Never let your attitude and action be dictated
by the attitudes and actions of others.
