Because I live, you also will live.
—John 14:19
Death is the great equalizer; it treats everyone the same: “… each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgment” (Heb. 9:27 NLT).
Die we must—but not alone, not in fear, and not forever.
Those who know next to nothing about the Bible know this verse: “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me” (Ps. 23:4).
By dying and rising Jesus set us free from fear; emancipated “those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death” (Heb. 2:14-15).
“Because I live,” he promised, “you also will live” (Jno 14:19).
Live for the day when God will wipe away
every tear and take away every fear.
