From the fullness of his grace we have
all received one blessing after another.
—John 1:16
Having recently received CPA certification, he set out to enlighten his immigrant father.
“Dad, your business is a mess,” he said. “You have no inventory procedure. Your accounts-receivable are stuffed in a drawer. You don’t have a bookkeeping system. You have no idea how much profit you’ve made—if any.”
“Son,” said pop, “when I came to this country the only thing I owned was a pair of pants. Now your brother is a doctor, your sister is an art teacher, and you are accountant. Your mother and I own our little home, we have a car that’s paid for, and we make a decent living from this business. Add all that up, subtract the pants, and the rest is profit.”
You don’t need a PhD in math to count your blessings;
First Grade addition will do the trick.
