Two blind men followed him, calling out,
“Have mercy on us, Son of David!”
—Matthew 9:27
Here is a trio of verses that display the compassion of Jesus:
He had compassion on them and healed their sick (Matt. 14:14).
Filled with compassion, Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man (Mk. 1:41).
When the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her and he said, “Don’t cry” (Lk. 7:13).
Jesus can’t see pain without wanting to heal; can’t see loneliness without wanting to embrace; can’t see sorrow without wanting to comfort.
When you suffer, he suffers. When you hurt, he hurts. When you weep, he weeps.
Close to Him or far from Him, you are
never beyond the reach of Him.
