Who of you by worrying can
add a single hour to his life?
—Matthew 6:27
“Do not worry about anything,” Paul wrote (Phil. 4:6). Just before that he had written, “Rejoice in the Lord always.” Then, in case we missed it, he added, “I will say it again: Rejoice!” (Phil. 4:4).
In an out-of-control world like ours there is plenty to worry about.
But there is more to rejoice about because your relationship with God puts all problems in the “Only Temporary” category. The storms you have to fight through are just pesky detours on the way to your final destination. “The troubles will soon be over, but the joys to come will last forever” (2 Cor. 4:18 TLB).
There can’t be much worth worrying about when you already know how the story is going to end.
Today is the tomorrow
you worried about yesterday.
